NMC wants all pensioners to be given 7th Pay Commission arrears in one go

JAMMU, May 28: President of National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to the Chief Minister to review the decision taken recently with regard to the payment of 7th pay commission arrears in three installments in favor of state pensioners.
"As per earlier decision, the arrears were to be paid in three installments, but the decision has been revised for the age group of 80 years pensioners, they are to be paid in one installment, it would be fitness of things if all the pensioners of all age groups are treated with one yard stick, " Shastri said this while addressing a well attended NMC workers meet at village Kanjali. Shastri said that once an employee gets retired from government service, he remains totally dependent on his pension, as good will gesture. He said the state government should also give the 7th pay commission arrears to state pensioners in one go so that the pensioners would get sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation.
Shastri demanded for early an enhancing of medical allowance to rupees one thousand on the pattern of central government pensioners to the state pensioners, strict implementation of SRO 520 beside releasing of all pending wages of daily rated workers working in the various departments, issuance of orders for removing all pay anomalies of clerical cadre, total exemption of DA from income tax slab and increasing the wages of daily rated workers to Rs. 350/- per day etc.
