Early Times Report

Anantnag, May 28: In last nineteen months, Anantnag district administration has 'miserably' failed to shut down an 'unlicensed' petrol pump in Bijbehara town of the district. The petrol pump continues to function despite the fact that Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited has terminated the retail outlet dealership agreement of M/S R K Auto Care Bijbehara in September 2016.
The corporation before serving show case notices to the petroleum service station owner finally cancelled his retail outlet dealership agreement for violating company's rules. "This refers to our show cause notice MT/RET dated 10-09-2015 addressed to you by stating that you have violated the clause No. 44, 47, 58(a) and 58 (J) of the standard dealership agreement. You have admitted that Abdul Rashid Dagga is running the retail outlet and your bank account isn't being used for financial transactions and neither you filled the income tax return for operating this retail outlet," reads company's cancellation order.
The owner of the petroleum service station was also directed to handover the company's equipment including storage tanks and pumps to the officials of the corporation without any deal.
The corporation also wrote to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Senior Superintend of Police, Legal Metrology Department, Assistant Director Food, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs department in year 2016, however authorities swept the order under carpet and didn't take action neither stopped illegal sale of petrol and diesel. In 2017, as per the documents available with Early Times, the company filed criminal complaints against the petroleum service station owner for running illegally and restraining them to take over the property, however apparently administration preferred to remain silent due to the reasons best known to them.
In 2017, Petroleum and Explosives safety Organization (PESO) that comes under Ministry of Industries and Commerce Government of India, has also cancelled the license No. [P/NC/JK/14/4(P50253)]
"In exercise of the powers conferred upon me vide Rule (I) (iii) of the petroleum rules 2002, the license No. [P/NC/JK/14/4(P50253)] in the FORM XIV of the Petroleum rules 2002 granted to Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited for license od petroleum service station at Bijbehara is hereby cancelled with immediate effect," reads an order issued by the Dy Controller of Explosives of PESO, a copy of which lies with this news paper.
