RTIC Samba, Ghagwal headless since 2017, minister indifferent Influential manage attachment at CE's offices 5/28/2018 11:48:23 PM Early Times Report Jammu, May 28: The AEEs posts of RTIC division Samba and Ghagwal are vacant for the last one year due to which irrigation works falling under their jurisdiction are not functioning smoothly. Moreover, influential officials of PHE, I&FC and RTIC have managed their attachment at Chief Engineer's office. Joginder Singh, a local resident of Samba told Early Times that in the absence of a head in the said division, people are facing lot of problems. "We had given representation to the Minister for PHE, I&FC Sham Lal Choudhary. He gave us assurances, but nothing has done at ground," Singh said. "A delegation also met RTIC Chief Engineer and apprised him about their problems faced in absence of division head. At that time the CE assured us that he had taken up the matter with Commissioner Secretary of PHE, I&FC department and that within days an officer will be posted in both divisions", Singh said. Another resident Rashpal Singh said the irrigation season has set in and most of the irrigation works in these two sub divisions are incomplete due to absence of officials. More than dozen of AEE/AE have been attached in the office of Chief Engineers PHE, IFC and RTIC offices. They are drawing their salaries without any work while the vacant posts of AEE/AE of both division are not filled up, causing delay in completion of different irrigation works being executed in both divisions. Criticizing the minister and higher authority of department concerned for not paying any heed to their please, the people have now appeal to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally look into the matter. Meanwhile, RTIC, Division Hiranagar, XeN Naveen Kumar accepted that both sub divisions' AEE posts are lying vacant. One of them retired and the other was promoted.
