PF, KET observe Menstrual Hygiene Day

Jammu, May 28: Menstrual Hygiene Day observed at KPS, Barnoti with great pump and show. On this occasion Pushpanjali Foundation in association with Kartar Educational Trust, installed a 'Sanitary Napkin Dispensing Machine for hygienic disposal of used sanitary napkins. Dr. Arun Arora, Chairman of the foundation in an address to the teachers stressed upon the need of menstrual hygiene. He said that poor menstrual hygiene can lead to genital tract infections, blockage of fallopian tubes, infertility and at times can lead to even cancer. Swachh Nanhi Swasth Nanhi - project was launched by Pushpanjali Foundation. This project involves providing free sanitary napkins to underprivileged young girls wherein 106 underprivileged girls were adopted by the foundation who will be provided free sanitary napkin for one year. He further said that foundation plans to adopt more underprivileged girls in future. Sanitary napkins disposal is a big cleanliness issue, for which foundation is trying to install disposal machines in girls' schools and colleges. Er. Nirmaljit Singh Chairman Kartar Public School Barnoti Kathua assured to help in all possible ways for this project of the foundation.
