Dak Sevaks strike enters day 7

Jammu, May 28: Indefinite strike of Gramin Dak Sevaks of Postal Department under the banner of National Union Gramin Dak Sevaks (NUGDS) today entered the 7th day.
The protest was today held in the shape of peaceful Dharna like other previous days in front of Jammu Tawi Head Post Office at Dogra Chowk for acceptance and immediate implementation of GDS 7th Pay Commission Report of Kamlesh Chandera Committee. A large number of Gramin Dak Sevak Employees mark their presence in the Dharna. All work of Rural Postal network stands completely paralyzed for 7th day today .The agitation was completely peaceful and all GDS participants are requested through NUGDS leaders to ensure safety of Department properly. All sister unions of Postal Employees have shown complete sympathy and co-operation with the genuine demands of the Gramin Dak Sevaks, who are the backbone of the Department of Posts India. The Leaders of National Union Gramin Dak Sevaks (NUGDS J&K Circle), who addressed the Dharna are Keshav Sharma (Division Secretary NUGDS Jammu), Ram Krishan Bhat, Harbans Singh, Som Nath, Charan pass, Ram Pal etc. The future course of programme or action will be decided in the NUGDS meeting in the evening today.
