Inter School District Level Competition gets underway

Jammu, May 28: Inter School District Level Competitions in the sports discipline of Judo, Yoga, Jeet Kwando, Kurash, Gymnastic, Karate, Rope Skipping U/14 and 17yrs (Boys) & Tennis Ball Cricket & Tennis Cricket U/17 yrs (Boys) got underway today here at Indoor Complex M.A Stadium & Green Field Gandhi Nagar, Jammu respectively.
In all near about 300 boys are drawn across from 14 Zones of Jammu District are taking part in the competitions. The competitions are organised by Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad , KAS, Director General, Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the organising Secretary of the tournament. Chanchal Kour DYSSO Jammu declared the competitions open in presence of the players and the Zonal Physical Education Officers of District Jammu. While addressing the gathering she said that students should take part in sports for the development of self confidence and also for the development of mind & body. She further said to participants "Play the game, play it well" with sportsman spirit. Later on, she wished them all the best during the competitions. The main objective of the competitions is to select the teams of District Jammu for next level of competition.
