| PWD authorities in Poonch, Rajouri violate RTI Act | | Ignores SE Rajouri's order | | Rajesh Tandon

Poonch, May 28: It seems that all is not well with working of PWD in Poonch and Rajouri districts as both the Executive Engineers prefer to violate J&K RTI act openly.
Both the officers ignored the directions of their superior SE Rajouri Poonch circle. A RTI applicant approached both the Executive Engineers to know the amount spent on laying of OFC Cables by various telecom companies in both Poonch and Rajouri districts in addition to other information, but both the officers violated the Act.
In a major embarrassment to RTI applicant, XEN Rajouri Mushtaq Ahmed Raina vide his no EER/R&B/32/2018-19/878-79 dated 24-04-2018 directed the RTI applicant that "Information sought by you is very voluminous and this division is under staffed. You are requested to visit this office during working hours to check the record and take the requisite information".
This shows that the said Executive Engineer is making mockery of RTI Act. When the RTI applicant approached first appellate authority Superintending Engineer PWD Circle Rajouri Poonch, the later vide his no R&B/P&S/375-79dated 10-05-2018 directed both the Executive Engineers PWD Rajouri and Poonch to provide the information by 17th of May 2018 but no information has been provided by both the officers. It shows that PWD is brazenly murdering the RTI Act and government needs to take action against such officers who are playing hard role in murdering the aspiration of people by denying them desired information under RTI Act. |
