ROFJ holds meeting, discusses pension issues

Jammu, June 11: An emergency meeting of the Retired Officers Forum Jammu was convened on today under the chairmanship of I.D.Soni, President of the forum to deliberate some points pertaining to the Revised Pension/ Family Pension in light of Cabinet decision No. 77/5/2018 of 24.04.2018.
After thorough deliberations by various executive members, it was resolved to approach the State Govt. for giving an opportunity to pensioners to opt either Formulation- 1 or Formulation-ll, as agreed by the Govt.
Besides, it was also agreed to approach the Govt. to make payment of 7th Pay Commission arrears to all pensioners irrespective of age limit against the Govt. order to make payment in one go only pensioners of 80 years and above. Also DA arrears which do not stand paid wef 01.01.2009 to 30.06.2009 also were requested to be paid. Lastly it was suggested to approach the Govt. to enhance Medical allowance from Rs. 300/ to 2000/ at least, as at present it is nothing more than a joke when the cost of health awareness has become so costly.
Moreover the expenditure to be incurred by pensioner on account of medication is the same for legislator but the legislator is being paid Rs.5000/- against Rs. 300 to pensioner.
