| People protest against RDD authorities | | |  Early Times Report
MENDHAR, June 11: A large number of people who have been denied wages by the Rural Development Department under various MGNREGA works for the last over Two year held protest against the Government and also submitted a memorandum to SDM Mendhar Dr Tanveer Ahmed Khan here today.
The poor and hapless workers, who have offered their services under various works under MGNREGA of Mendhar Block assembled at outside BDO office Mendhar in here and started protest demonstration against the Rural Development Department and demanded inquiry misappropriation of cement in MGNREGA works .They alleged that concerned Village Level Workers (Gram Sevaks) were not paying their pending wages for the last over Two years and even the matter was brought to the notice of BDO Mendhar, but nothing has happened. , these workers were shouting slogans against Director RDD and Block Development Officer (BDO) Mendhar. They warned to intensify their agitation if the wages of poor workers were not paid within a week. They also pointed out that people were holding protests for the last several months but the Government has turned deaf ear towards their issue and appeal to the Minister RDD look into matter. |
