ReT teachers hold protest

Rajouri, June 13: More than 1500 teachers from all the 15 education zones of Rajouri district under the chairman ship of Aftab Tantray, district president, today held a protest demonstration before the office complex of Deputy Commissioner.
The protest was held under the banner of J&K Rehber-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (ReTTF) lead by Farooq Ahmed Tantray all over the state in favour of their demands.
The Teachers have been demanding de-linking of SSA salary from Ministry of Human Rights (MHRD) and linking it with State budget, implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
The protest demonstration continued for about 5 hours till 3pm.
They also presented a memorandum of their demands to A.S. Chib, ADDC for further submission to Chief Minister.
Those who addressed the teachers include Jahangir Khan, Ajit Singh, Manjeet Kour, Javid malik, Mir Shokat Maroof Choudhry Naresh Sharma and others.
Aftab Tantray and other speakers appealed to the teachers to join state level protest at Partap Chowk, Srinagar on the occasion of Eid festival as the teachers have not received salary for the last more than 5 months.
