Delhi woman killed ; 21 injured in Katra road mishap

KATRA, June 13:A female pilgrim from Delhi died and 21 others were injured when a Mini bus fell into Balni Nallah near Katra .

The most of the injured are from Sultanpur area of Utter Pradesh.

The injured where rushed to the Katra CHC where six of them were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of their serious condition, said SP Katra
Naresh Singh, who along with SHO Katra rushed to the spot and rescued the injured victims from gorge.

The accident took place late last night around 10.45 pm when the bus JK02H-1285, on way from Shiv Khori to Katra, hit a stranded auto rickshaw JK02H-4285 and a minibus
JK02BM-3971 at Balni bridge near Police Check-Post, under the jurisdiction of Katra Police Station.

Due to the collision, a woman pilgrim in the auto-rickshaw died on the spot while the minibus fell into the deep gorge resulting into injuries to 21 pilgrims, who were on way to Katra after performing Darshan at Shiv Khori.
The deceased pilgrim was identified as Sushma Singh Rawat, wife of Narinder Singh
Rawat of Bhadurpur, Delhi.

The injured were identified as Narinder Singh, son of K S Rahawant of Gokul Uttarakhand,
Rajiv son of Hanuman Parsad of Sultanpur ( UP )

Anil Kumar, son of Sant Lal of Sultanpur ( UP)

Ram Krishan, son of Ram Raj of Durga Park, New Delhi,
Bhelu, son of Hanuman Parsad of Sultanpur ( UP) and his wife Poonam , Prem Kumar son of Jeevan Lal of Sultanpur, Rama, daughter of
Sham Lal of Sultanpur, Sharmo
Devi wife of Bhola Nath of Sultanpur, Ratnakar Kumar, son of Kamal Kumar of Mumbai,
Rajat Kumar, son of Sant Lal of
Sultanpur, Rahul son of Ramesh Kumar of Sultanpur, Arun Kumar son of Ramesh Kumar,
Shubham Kumar son of Vijay Kumar, Reha Choudhary, daughter of Bhola Nath, Bhola
Nath, son of Puran, Ishan, son of Prem Kumar, Priyanka Kumari daughter of Vijay Kumar, Aman Kumar son of Vijay Kumar and 3-year old Ladla son of Bholu,
all residents of Sultanpur (UP).
