Sycophants in GMC politicize MTA elections, threaten candidates to quit

SRINAGAR, June 16: The influential sycophants in the GMC Jammu are playing lowest level of politics for getting votes in favour of their candidates in Medical Teachers Association (MTA) elections by threatening other candidates to quit in favour of their beloved ones.
In addition, these sycophants are leaving no chance to vitiate the peaceful GMC atmosphere just for their personal gains.
Highly placed sources told the earlier report has depicted how few sycophants closer to the power corridors are hell-bent upon destroying the premier medical institution GMC Jammu. Now the same group wants to control everything and get it revolve remove those few have started politicizing MTA elections and create an atmosphere in the hospital compelling Election Chairman Prof. Zahid Gillani to defer the elections till summer vacations are over.
"Last time MTA's elections were held in January 2015 for two years period. Certain faculty members were elected who preferred to align with Ex-Minister forgetting real purposes for which MTA was framed, "sources stated.
On 17th October 2017, fifty faculty members addressed a communication to PMC Jammu to hold MTA elections as the previous body failed to do so but the Sycophants wanted to continue and enjoy their position in corridors put a question mark that as per MTA constitution Principal is not authorized to call for elections. On 13th Dec 2017, about sixty members passed a 'No Confidence Motion' against the existing MTA. Ultimately Prof. Zahid Gillani was given the responsibility of hold MTA elections. He announced the dates for election and ultimately few nominations for various posts were received, sources further states.
Sources added that after getting information of cheap l politics started, Prof. Gillani postponed the elections and nominated Prof. Ghanshyam Dev as Chairman of Governing Council with few HODs as its members to make endeavours to create an atmosphere of harmony amongst faculty of this premier institution.
Sources alleged that frustrated by this genuine action of RO, Ex-MTA members sent a communiqué to the Principal, in addition to meeting her personally put forth allegations against RO. Prof. Ghanshyam Dev in view of summer vacations constituted a committee of 9 members (3 neutral and 3 from each side contesting elections) to act as Interim Body of MTA under the advisory of HODs till GBM is called after summer vacations a fresh process of elections is initiated to elect a dedicated and selfless body of MTA.
