Early Times Report

Srinagar, June 21: Despite ending of the PDP-BJP alliance in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Health Mission Department in its banners had put on display on Thursday mentioning Mehbooba Mufti as Chief Minister and Devinder Kumar Manyal and Asiea Naqash as Minister for Health and State, respectively.
The 4th International Yoga Day is being celebrated globally on June 21. While at Shar-I-Kashmir Indoor Stadium Srinagar, the National Health Mission JK on its banners had put on display Mehbooba Mufti as Chief Minister while Devinder Kumar Manyal and Asiea Naqash as Minister for Health and MOS. It surprised everyone when they came across the banner. Even Governor N N Vohra also participated in Yoga there.
Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday submitted her resignation to Governor NN Vohra shortly after the BJP pulled out of the coalition government. After which President approved imposition of the Governor’s Rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
However, the concerned officials seem caught unaware that Mehbooba Mufti is no more chief minister of the state. "What are officials doing? Do they not know that she is not chief minister of the state while Governor Rule has been imposed in the state," Ghulam Mohammad, who lives near the Shar-i-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar, said.
Hundreds of participants from NCC, Police and Police Public School, Srinagar, participated in several Yoga events in the Valley. The participants were seen moving enthusiastically towards the venues in colourful sports outfits. They spread awareness about the benefits of practicing yoga and urge people to perform it regularly.
Meanwhile, Governor N.N. Vohra who attended the 4th International Yoga Day organised by the Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy, J&K, in early morning at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex said that Yoga is a scientific method maintaining the health and balance of the mind and body and its techniques have now been reoriented to suit modern sociological needs and lifestyles, thereby helping in mitigation of diseases and promotion of health.
Emphasising the importance of Yoga for physical and mental fitness, Governor stressed that yoga should be taught at educational institutions and there should also be special arrangements for teaching it to senior citizens. Earlier, Governor participated in the Yoga exercises conducted by Deepak Sharma, Yoga expert. In this session over 1000 participants of all age groups participated.
Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education, in his inaugural address emphasised that people should make yoga an integral part of their life.
