Govt's denial to set up 'Fast Track Courts' injustice to rape victims
6/21/2018 10:52:30 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 21: Despite the fact that in order to provide speedy justice to the rape victims, setting up of Fast Track Courts across the State was proposed way back but the till date Government has miserably failed meet the demand.
Pardeep, an employee in private company said that the injustice with women begins right from the time when they step out of their houses and the court of law is the only place where they hope to get justice but humiliating questioning, and delay in the disposal of cases diminishes their hope to get justice to restore their dignity in the society.
He further said that narrow approach of the Government ostensibly proves that our country cares a little for its women. This can be gauged from the fact that much needed reforms in judiciary by the setting up Fast Track Courts for the quick disposal of the rape cases is still a distant dream.
Sikander Singh, a social activist was of the opinion that any society which fails to save women's dignity can't be considered a developed society and for that we will have to provide justice to women not only in rape case but any discrimination meted out to them.
"Why our governments are so insensitive towards rape case?" he questioned and added that without fast track trials for the disposal of the rape cases, the justice can't be done with the victims.
Hardeep, a student said that being a civilized society we should understand the pain, atrocities inflicted to the rape victims and if government fails to do its part to bring all necessary provisions, the common masses will have to take the lead to pressurize the government to set up Fast Track Courts and hold speedy trials. "Without Fast Track Trail, the justice can't be done with the rape victims," he said.
