JKESLEC pays homage to Rifleman Aurangzeb | | | Early Times report
Jammu, June 23: Members of the J&K Ex-Services League Executive Committee presided by President Goverdhan Singh Jamwal observed 2 minutes silence and paid handsome tribute to Rifleman Aurangzeb of 4 JAKLI posted in 44 RR at Pulwama Srinagar who belonging to Mendhar Distt. Poonch has set an example of courage and bravery for emulation. The veterans of the State welcome the dissolution of the Govt. as it was not functioning as it should have in the most sensitive Border State of the Country. In fact the PDP BJP coalition had started with the rejection of our approved Sainik Colony at Srinagar Airport for which the proposal had been approved by Dr. Farooq Abdullah the then Chief Minister in the Rajya Sainik Board Meeting presided by His Excellency The Governor NN Vohra with Joint Vice Chairman Army Commander Northern Command and finally the land allotted by Omar Abdullah the then Chief Minister, in the Rajya Sainik Board Meeting on 31st Jan 2012 and yet without any reason the then Chief Minister Mehbooba without any reason immediately turned down the proposal and there is no progress and no colony for the Veterans of the State particularly for Kashmir region for whom the colony was meant and approved as Jammu had a Sainik Colony. It may be mentioned that these colonies were approved, as Army Housing Organization of Indian Army cannot acquire land and build colonies for us because of Section 370 and as such these colonies were sanctioned. |
