| SKUAST-J organizes ZREAC meeting | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, June 25: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu organized a Zonal Research and Extension Advisory Committee (ZREAC) meeting for Kharif - 2018 for Jammu province. Chairing the meeting Dr Pradeep K Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, stressed that deliberations of the meetings should focus on increasing the production and productivity from agriculture and allied sector through cutting the cost of cultivation, adoption of mechanized farming techniques and adoption of university recommended technologies. He also stressed upon the importance of feedback from officers of the Line Departments for carrying out productive research with coordinated efforts between Line Departments and University scientist for achieving the target of doubling the farmers' income in next five years. He hoped that the deliberations during the course of this meeting will go a long way in ameliorating the farmers' problems and thereby making a significant step in improving agriculture scenario of the State. Dr K S Risam, Director Extension SKUAST-J formally welcomed the officers of the line department and briefed the participants about the mandate of the meeting. He also requested the officers of the department for deliberation on the specific issues concerning applicability of research recommendations given by the University. During the meeting Dr J P Sharma, Director Research, presented overview of the various research activities of SKUAST-Jammu being carried out for the welfare of the farming community.
