Students, locals protest against scanty infrastructure in school | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, June 28: The students of Government Middle School (GMS) Upper Jakhed Zone Dudu Basant Garh and Local villagers of Upper Jakhed and adjoining areas staged a protest demanding additional classroom better School infrastructure. According to locals and Students the Government Primary School (GPS) Upper Jakhed Zone Dudu Basant Garh is functioning approximately for the last 23 years and in 2010 this school was upgraded to Middle School but the infrastructure was not upgraded. Over 80 students are presently studying in this school but the classrooms are just two. When it rains, the water comes gushing into the class rooms. There is no play field for the students as well. The protestors alleged that due to the shortage of classrooms and other infrastructure, the students are facing manifold problems in the school. ZEPO, Dudu Gulam Hasan Keanth, said that the matter of additional classroom and School infrastructure of this school has been taken up with the higher authorities and department is hopeful that it will be redressed at appropriate time. |
