Poonch, June 28: Taking strong note of the report published in this newspaper that commission culture prevails in payment of MGNREGA works to labourers, District Development Commissioner constituted a team of officers headed by ACD to probe into the bungling and submit the report to his office in a stipulated time frame source said here today
Early Times published a report in its June 26, 2018 edition that MGNREGA labourers were not paid their wages for the works they have done due to commission being asked by the VLWs and Technical assistant at the rate of 25% from the total bill. Those who could afford used to pay them while most of the poor labourers who were unable to pay were not getting the payment in time. In this regard they staged many protests unless District Development Commissioner Mohd Aijaz today took the cognizance of the matter and constituted a team headed by ACD, Mukhtayar Ahmed when contacted ACD Poonch Mukhtyar Ahmed told Early TImes that the practice was very wrong and we will see into the matter very seriously. The technical assistants and VLWs involved in the mal practices will be dealt with iron hand and we assure the gullible MGNREGA labourers that their dues will be released in time. He also lambasted the BDO Mankote who has been a mute spectator to the issue.
