BJP enjoyed power, neglected Jammuites to keep PDP amused: Sham Sharma
6/28/2018 11:23:19 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 28: Former minister and senior Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma said that the erstwhile PDP-BJP government has miserably failed in carrying out the development works in the state particularly in Jammu.
Addressing a meeting of active members of Panchayat Rah and Salyote today, Sham Lal said even the works started during NC-Congress regime were put to standstill. The BJP-PDP government even failed in providing the basic amenities like power, water and other essential commodities to the people of the state.
Sham lambasted MLAs and ex-Ministers of BJP for meeting the governor and urged him to start developmental works in the state. He wanted to know from BJP that when they were in power at that time they forget the development of Jammu region but remained busy in carrying the posting and transfers of employees for obvious reasons. He further wanted to know what developments they carried out during their regime for the betterment of people of Jammu who gave massive mandate to them, may it be power, water and other developments. The people are suffering from long and unscheduled Power cuts, scarcity of water and ration.
While speaking on the occasion, Sham said various schemes were undertaken by his government earlier but these weren't further completed and rather abandoned. He said that the inhabitants of the area wouldn't have suffered acute water scarcity had the PHE schemes started in 2013 in Manal Bangla Padoon were completed. He asked the BJP MLAs and ex-Ministers as to why they didn't take steps to complete these important schemes which would have provided a great relief to the people of these areas.
While taking dig on BJP, Sham said that this party during its election campaign sought votes on abrogation of Article 370 and people of Jammu gave them massive mandate but due to lust of power BJP put this issue on back burner.
