| Baba Chamliyal Mela organized by local committee members | | |  Early Times Report
VIJAYPUR, June 28:Though the Samba district administration had refused to accord permission to the annual fair in Chamliyal but the local committee of village Dugh Chani and panchyat committee organized Mela in the Dargah of Baba Chamliyal in Ramgarh sector here today.
At around 9 am, the local committee of village Dugh Channi along with the officers of the BSF and ex-Sapranch offerwd a Chaddar on the Dargah of Baba Daleep Singh Manhas in Chamliyal and sought the blessings of revered saint. Early in the morning, devotees thronged the shrine to take blessings of Baba Chamliyal. Hundreds of devotees from within the state and outside the state thronged the shrine of Baba Chamliyal.
Sunita Sharma, a devotee said that she along with her husband come to this shrine every year but this time around the typical passion associated with the fair is missing mainly due to the tension between India and Pakistan along the International Border.
On the occasion, the local committee members also served the langar to the devotees.
Former ministers and ex-MLAs Manjeet Singh and Surjeet Singh Slathia also visited the shrine. |
