| Bhagat Mahasabha celebrates Prakash Utsav of Sant Kabir Maharaj | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 28:Bhagat Mahasabha J&k unit organized a state level function to celebrate the 620th Prakash Utsav of Sant Kabir here today at Abhinav Theatre. On the occasion, followers and devotees of Sant Kabir from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir and from neighbouring states like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana participated to pay homage to great saint of Bhakti movement.
People from the different areas reached at the venue in the shape of jhankies by chanting slogan and bhajans of Sant Kabir. The programme started with garlanding the portrait of Kabir ji followed by satsang and kirtan by Swami Milkhi Ram Bhagat Gorday Waley. While chanting the shabd, dohe and sakhian of Sadguru Kabir saheb ji , Swami ji asked the sangat to follow the teachings of sant kabir sahib ji as only his teachings can bring Megh community out of backwardness and dark age. He asked Megh community to stop bad habits of drinking alcohol, smoking, dowry, etc. Chanchala Bhagat, daughter of Shaheed Bhagat Amar Nath ji who laid down his life for implementation of reservation in J&K was the chief guest on the occasion. Bhushan Lal Dogra, ex-vice chairperson Scheduled Castes Advisory Board was the guest of honour. Pawan Bhagat, state chairman joined hands with Bhushan Lal Dogra to handover the trophies to meritorious students of the community. Dogra appealed the people of Megh samaj to unite on the one platform for proper upliftment of samaj in right direction |
