| Rangyug stages play Raktbeej | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, June 30: A hindi play Raktbeej was staged today here at Abhinav Theatre by a theatre group Rangyug . The play was prepared by the young and energetic actors of the group was ably directed by Juhie Mohan who also made her debut as a director.
One of the widely acclaimed and performed plays of the playwright Dr. Shanker Shesh, Raktbeej comments on the reckless pursuits of success through two different stories and narrates how our system is subjugated for personal interests. Revolving around contemporary characters and their urge to achieve higher status in life by hook or by crook, the play resonates how our current social system works by exploiting people.
Taking a clue from a mythical Character Raktbeej from "Devi Bhagwat Puran" and building a contemporary story of exploiters and the exploited , the play opens with a few actors discussing the difference between murder and suicide . The actors finally decide to perform two different stories before the audiance to involve them in discussion and to help them make their own opinion instead of providing them a tailored interpretation.
Music and sounds by Dhanish Sharma, lights by Pankaj Sharma, Costumes by Dr. Priya Dutta, Props by Shadi Lal, Shivan and Pranav, Sets by Virji Sumbly and Design by Deepak Kumar were aptly applied for enhancing and strengthening the performance and added to its overall impact. Backstage allied works were performed by Rishi Kumar Pawa, Deepak Kumar, Ankur , Ajay, Aryan and other members of Rangyug. |
