6/30/2018 11:27:06 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 30: Conspiracies to derail peace in Kashmir are being hatched in Pakistan and these conspiracies have been executed and are being implemented by militants, pushed from across the LOC,in to Kashmir. This is what the police authorities claim about the fate of Sujaat Bukhari, who has remained impartial in the treatment of news items in his newspaper,Rising Kashmir.
Sujaat Bukhari has not taken sides.
He would give coverage to events in Pakistan and statements dished out by Pakistani leaders.
He would give coverage to the statements of separatists and to the incidents of violence.Sujaat was a rare newsman in Kashmir who would give coverage to mainstream political activities and to the statemenets from mainstream politicians, whether they belonged to NC or to the PDP or to the Congress. He would not feel shy about giving some space to the activities and plans of the BJP
A fortnight after Shujaat Bukhari was assassinated, Police have stated that there was a conspiracy to kill him. They revealed that conspiracy to kill him was hatched in Pakistan and executed by three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants in Kashmir who have been identified.
The blogger, who ran a slander campaign against Bukhari, has been identified as Shiekh Sajjad Gul alias Ahmad Khalid of HMT area of Srinagar, presently living in Pakistan.
"There was an online malicious campaign, which was intimidating at time.
Five to six posts were on the public domain. We have tangible evidence that establishes that the online campaign was done from Pakistan.
The evidence provided by service providers reveal that they are from Pakistan and were part of LeT conspiracy," Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Swayam Prakash Pani has claimed
He said blogger Sajad Gul was a LeT operative and currently based in Pakistan, where from he ran a hate campaign against Bukhari.
"Besides, there were malicious and intimidating posts spread through Facebook account, Kadwa Sach Kashmir and Twitter handle, Ahmad Khalid against Bukhari," he said.
Gul, according to IGP, had gone to Pakistan in March 2017 on a fraudulent passport. The police claim is a warning to those newsmen who wish to be impartial and who may not take sides. It is a warning to those who cover events in Pakistan, events in Kashmir, statements from separatists and mainstream politicians.
Sujaat's assassination is a warning to those newsmen and to those editors who do not toe pro-Pakistan,pro-militant slander.
It is a warning to newsmen and to editors in India to be partial to Islamabad and never dare to berate Pakistan and militants
