JAMMU, June 30: Monty of Rohtak won the title of Surgu Dangal 2018 by defeating Jaideep of Charkhi Dadri and both were awarded with Rupees 21,000. Residents of village Nichla of Ghagwal sub division of Samba district organised Surgu Dangal under the presidentship Devi Ditta Sharma and patronage of Sagar Chand ex-panch. The Dangal was started with the worship of local deity situated at Surgu farms. Thousands of people and wrestlers from all over India participated where a total of 76 bouts were held in 300 years old Dangal.
Monty of Rohtak won the title of Surgu Dangal 2018 by defeating Jaideep of Charkhi Dadri. Both were awarded with Rupees 21,000 and a beautiful Gurj, Mace by Colonel Ashutosh Mishra, the chief guest. The CO appreciated the beautiful event and donated an amount of 10,000/- and distributed sweets among wrestlers and organising committee.
Earlier, the winner wrestler Monty fought and won two bouts to get place in final. A bout of Rs. 15000 was won by Kuldeep of Dewan Haryana by defeating Pawan of Ghati Kathua. Similarly, Sumit of Delhi defeated Sharieff of Barnoti Kathua in bout of Rs. 11,000. Murari Lal Sharma former President of Committee, Sardari Lal, Kewal Kumar, Parshotam Lal played role of referees. General Secretary Sunny Prashar presented vote of thanks who thanked Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, people and wrestlers on behalf of Organising Committee for their full cooperation. |
