| Tough action to be launched against encroachers | | Functioning of Evacuee Property Department reviewed | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 7: Custodian General J&K, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today reviewed the functioning of Evacuee Property Department Kashmir during a meeting in his office chambers.
Custodian Evacuee Property Kashmir, all Deputy Custodians and the Field staff were present in the meeting. The Custodian Evacuee Property Kashmir appraised the Custodian General J&K regarding revenue realization/removal of encroachments/illegal occupations besides status of ongoing/proposed projects to be taken for execution.
The Custodian General directed the officers/officials of the department to work with honesty and dedication for the protection and best management of the evacuee property and that no indiscipline or dereliction in duties on the part of employees shall be tolerated.
He directed them to keep proper eye on the evacuee property so that same is not grabbed or encroached upon by the land grabbers/ unscrupulous elements.
He also directed the officers/officials of the department to make best use of the vacant land in possession of the department for raising of viable assets for generation of handsome income, while stressing on the officers of the department, the Custodian General J&K reiterated for revision of monthly rents taking into account the value of the evacuee property land, its use by the occupants besides to launch a Special drive against the defaulters for recovery of rent/arrears from them.
The Custodian General also directed to retrieve the illegal occupation of evacuee property bedsides notify the structures where-ever raised by the occupants/un-scrupulous elements under relevant provisions of Evacuees (Administration of Property) Act Svt. 2006. A Committee headed by Deputy Custodian General was constituted to submit suggestions/measures regarding proper administration/management of evacuee Property land/tiny orchards under occupations of various persons in Kashmir Divisions since decades to augment the income of the Department.
The committee shall submit its report/suggestions within 04 days. Further the committees already constituted shall conduct physical verification of office stores of Evacuee Property Department Jammu/Kashmir and office of Custodian General Within time bond manner.
The Custodian General directed for taking action against encroachers at various places, repairs of Marriage Hall and replacement of bedding etc, adhering to Bio-metric attendance, expediting various projects etc.
The Custodian General J&K stated that he will take a detailed meeting of the officers/officials of the department in the next week and every employee of the department shall be made accountable for his faults, if any, or any damage to the evacuee property falling in his area. |
