BJP mulling to float new regional party to divide Dogra votes: Harsh
7/20/2018 10:07:06 PM
Early Times Report
Manwal, July 20: Having lost ground in its erstwhile political bastion and sensing rout in the ensuing elections, the BJP was planning to float a new regional party to divide the Dogra votes in Jammu region, alleged Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman.
He said that BJP had realized the fact that Jammu electorates who earlier voted to catapult it to power will now exercise their franchise and powers to dethrone it. He said that alarmed at the prospect of loss of power and a definite debacle in case the Jammu votes remained undivided, the BJP had reportedly conceived a new strategy to prevent such votes from going one way. And some leaders were being projected for the purpose who though would be BJP men, but seek votes in the name of a new regional outfit which would serve as another frontal organization of BJP, claimed Singh.
He was addressing public meetings in Nakki, Palnoo, Battal, Manwal and Kathar village of Ramnagar and Nagrota Assembly constituencies respectively. He also inaugurated Jio show-room at Manwal.
"Having enjoyed the fruits of power for three years in PDP led govt, the said MLA remained one of the most trusted lieutenants of Mehbooba till the date of his ouster from state cabinet. Where was this gentleman when dogras were on the roads seeking declaration of holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh's birthday. And why did he not support the dogra movement at that time despite being a cabinet Minister. He had failed to confront Engineer Rashid, the MLA langate, who had used derogatory words against Maharaja Hari Singh on the floor of the House.
Further the said MLA had failed to counter MLA Akbar Lone when the latter raised Pro Pak slogans in the Assembly", said Singh. Similarly, added Harsh, the said MLA failed to assert in the Assembly in the face of PDP leadership refusing the grant of Dogra certificate to Jammu youth. And then suddenly one fine morning, after his ouster from the seat of power, a realization dawned upon him that dogras had suffered humiliation and neglect at the hands of various govts in which he too occupied important positions.
Amused by the said leader's new found love for the Dogras, Singh said that never during his 22 years political career had he shown such fondness for Dogra culture and history or the cause of Jammu while promoting throughout the respective agendas of Tewari congress, INC and then BJP. And having changed atleast three political parties during his political journey, he was now the chosen one by Amit Shah for the new political outfit to help BJP by creating a division in the anti BJP votes.
