| MGNREGA employees hold massive protest | | | Early Times Report
jammu, July 27: All J&K MGNREGA Employees Association today held a protest demonstration demanding their absorption in Rural Development Department (RDD) & PR. Hundreds of employees assembled at exhibition ground Jammu and protested against failure of the Government in fulfilling the genuine demand of MGNREGA employees. On the 18th consecutive day of their protest as large number of employees under the banner of All J&K MGNREGA Employees Association assembled at Exhibition Ground in the morning at around 11 am and then started protest demonstration.
Sandeep Kalotra president of the association said that the MGNREGA employees continued their peaceful protest and entered 19th consecutive day across the Jammu and Kashmir. Time and again we have been raising our demand at every forum we have knocked every door but not hearing from any side. He said they have been holding such protests for past many years to seek regularization of their job but the State government was not ready to pay heed to their demands. "Government has always betrayed but this time we have decided to keep protesting, until our demands are not met by the Government in writing with complete acceptance in a time bound manner. We need our future security and demand our absorption in the concerned RDD department," said, He claimed that the employees are serving the RDD department from last more than 12 years. "We are being ill-treated by the state administration," If the government does not do anything this time, we will intensify our protest in within days and will launch state-wide massive protests" The workers from various districts joined the protest program at Jammu. |
