Early Times Report
Sunderbani, July 27: The fast deteriorating education system in the state is coming up with a quite disgusting instances that is bring shame and ignominy to teaching community.
At Lower Hatthal in village Barnara of district Rajouri, a shameful incident occurred that has shocked the entire village. A teacher of government middle school Barnara accused a woman and her child of being 'characterless'.
The incident came to light few days ago when a Class 5 student, Anjli Devi, of government Middle School, upper Barnara rushed home from school in an injured condition.
When asked by her father Dev Raj as to what had happened in the school, the little girl narrated the woeful story to her parents which was quite disturbing. She said that her teacher Gulshan Kumar beat her blue and black without any reason and he was joined by one female teacher in beating her. The mother of the child took her to the school to enquire as to why her daughter was beaten by the teachers. Talking to Early Times, mother of Anjli disclosed that when she met the teacher Gulshan Kumar, he accused her and Anjli of being of 'low character'.
Anjli's mother tried to meet the headmaster of the school who however avoided meeting her. When Early Times tried to contact the headmaster Kuldeep Raj to know the facts, he only said that he will look into the matter.
It is pertinent to mention here that the teacher Gulshan Kumar is already under the scanner. An FIR stands against him at Police Station Sunderbani. The people of Barnara after knowing that a Class 5 student has been badly beaten up have urged the Chief Education Officer Rajouri to take prompt action against the accused teacher.
Meanwhile, the daughter-mother duo have warned the Rajouri administration that they will go for self-immolation if they failed to take cognisance of the matter and bring the culprit behind the bars.
