APS Kaluchak hosts 'Behes' On-The-Spot team debate Competition

JAMMU, July 28: An on- the-Spot Inter-School Team Debate Competition was held at APS Kaluchak, organised by BEHES.
The aim was to enable the students to sift the knowledge, comprehend, analyse and prepare script with strong arguments in a planned and organized manner. The endeavour was to develop a child into competent rational thinker who would communicate with confidence. An air of zeal was seen among the participants.
Every topic given was a challenge for speakers and they geared themselves suitably for their turn to debate on. 137 teams from 15schools participated in the competition. 411contestants were divided into two groups The Lions (age group 14-18yrs) and the Cubs (age group 10-13yrs).The two- day event commenced on 27 July 2018 and concluded on 28 July, 2018. The budding debaters made their Alma Mater proud as they held aloft a glittering winner's trophy, relishing the glorious moment. The first position was bagged by APS Kaluchak and runners up by Jodhamal Public School in Cubs category. All the contestants put forth their views and arguments skillfully and convincingly on the topics given on the spot.
Tamana Manhas of APS BD Bari was adjudged as the best Cub -speaker of the tournament and Khushi Gupta of KC Public School got the best speaker award amongst the Lions.
KC Public School won the winner's trophy and Jodhamal Public School was the runners -up in Lions category.
Brigadier Atul Kumar Chairman APS Kaluchak congratulated the winners and lauded the efforts of Behes team. Hem Lata Vishen, Principal, APS Kaluchak, accentuated that the event enabled the children to come to terms with their extraordinary vocal skills and have left everyone awestruck with their logical thinking and reasoning.
