| Protest demanding arrest of attempt to murder accused | | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, July 28: Demanding the arrest of accused involved in an attempt to murder case of a vendor, the Fruit and Vendors Association held a protest at here today at Venus Chowk on Dhar Road.
Raising slogans against the police, the protesters blocked the Dhar Road which halted the vehicular movement for some time.
Rajesh Kumar Sharma, president of the association, said that though the police have registered the case under section 307 but yet to arrest the accused. He added that vendor which was attacked with sharp edged weapon by one person is a poor person, who has been hospitalized. He added that we don't trust the police till the accused is arrested. After getting the information of the protest, the police rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors with the assurance that fast and fair investigation will be conducted in the case.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on Dhar Road. When contacted, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur Rayees Ahmed Bhat said that the police have already registered the case under section 307 and constituted the teams to nab the culprit. |
