| MGNREGA Employees stage mega protest | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 28: All J&K MGNREGA Employees Association held a protest demonstration demanding their absorption in Rural Development Department (RDD) & PR. Hundreds of employees assembled at exhibition ground Jammu and protested against failure of the Government in fulfilling the genuine demand of MGNREGA employees. On the 20th consecutive day of their protest as large number of employees under the banner of All J&K MGNREGA Employees Association and started protest demonstration.
Sandeep Kalotra president of the association said that the MGNREGA employees continued their peaceful protest and entered 20th consecutive day across the Jammu and Kashmir. He said they have been holding such protests for past many years to seek regularization of their job but the State government was not ready to pay heed to their demands.
"Government has always betrayed but this time we have decided to keep protesting, until our demands are not met by the Government in writing with complete acceptance in a time bound manner. In order to create pressure on the striking MGNRGA employees who are on strike/protest from last 20 days in support of their demand for regularization, the Rural Development Department on Friday some MGNREGA Employees has been terminated from service which were working under MGNREGA scheme in different Districts.
Kalotra added that such termination can't discourage them from fighting for the cause which is their right. |
