Kashmir centric cops running colonial rule over Jammu region: Harsh
7/29/2018 12:20:00 AM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, July 28: While the Jammu based police personnel deployed in Kashmir are made to confront militant attacks the valley centric cops are running the colonial rule over Jammu province by quelling the voice of the people who raise voice against their misdeeds said Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP during the press meet.
Notwithstanding the policy of inter-regional transfers and deployment of police personnel in the State having different languages, culture, and topography, he categorically stressed upon the need of intraregional postings of the police force as it would avoid alienation between the public and the officers. "Of late it had been noticed that the policemen hailing from Jammu region were facing severe problems in Kashmir whose lives were endangered while they confronted frequent terror attacks in absence of adequate protective gear.
On the contrary, the cops from the valley who were posted in Jammu region enjoyed liberties with such officers acting as despots and running colonial rule under a well-knit Kashmir dominated political system, said Harsh", Recalling the infamous Rasana child murder case, Singh regretted that the way the Crime Branch dealt with the case it had raised millions of eyebrows and instilled doubts among the people regarding its credibility. "With the credentials of the two officers hailing from Kashmir in the SIT being doubtful, the integrity of such a committee surely became questionable. Why did the govt opt for Kashmir officers of disputable antecedents for probing a sensitive issue in Jammu region which had international connotations? And naturally, the ramifications proved catastrophic.
Pointing towards the undue harassment of Panthers leaders and activists by Rayees Mohd Bhat in District Udhampur, he said that while the victims were being blamed and bullied, the notorious character and criminals owing allegiance to a particular political party were being promoted. Such partisan posturing was also a part of a larger agenda to quell the voice of dogras.
