Jammu, Aug 2: Sham Lal Sharma called on Governor J&K, today. During meeting, Sh Sharma expressed gratitude and sincere thanks to Hon'ble Governor For nullifying the amendments made during erstwhile BJP PDP Government. He said that with this Hon'ble Governor has restored the democracy in the Panchayati institution. The Governor also restored the 73rd amendment for which Congress party had been struggling very hard for its restoration but the BJP PDP government was adamant for its application. In fact the Congress NC brought 73rd amendment with a view to vest grant more powers to the people.
He further congratulated for announcing the elections of Local bodies/Panchayat which was long over due.
A total number of 61,000 workers which which include casual workers,Need basis,workers engaged in lieu of land donated by them to the government for construction of structure related to public utility services and ITI trained workers. Subsequently,BJP PDP also examined the issue and framed a policy for regularisation Of these workers but so far not a single worker has been regularised. He further said that the this issue need to be considered on priority as these workers are agitating for the last so many years.He also urged the governor to revisit the SRO 520 so that justice is done with all and nobody feels aggrieved.
He also said that Anganwari workers have been agitating for the last several months for increase in their honarium and other demands. The said issue needs to be given due consideration.
Sham Sharma also discussed with the Governor the problems being faced by the people living along the border. He said that these people's have been worst sufferers so far as their personal security,livestock and education of their wards is concerned.
Sham lal also brought to the notice of governor that a package of Rs 5.50 lakh was announced in favour of displaced people but the same has been discontinued.
He urged the Hon'ble Governor that the said Grant may be given to these people expeditiously.
Sham lal sharma further requested the governor that the state assembly may be dissolved because the state is under Governors rule and the MLA's are not performing any duties but drawing their pay and allowances without any work. Sham further said that there is grouse among the people on this issue and they also demand that the state Assembly should be dissolved and elections to be held without any delay, so that democracy is restored in the state.
