Induction Week begins for MBA Students at JU

Jammu, Aug 1: International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu initiated the week-long Induction Programme to embark the beginning of the newly admitted batch of MBA (International Business) students, Session: 2018-2020, here today. The objective of the week-long programme is to imbibe the international orientation in the students and to prepare them for the upcoming academic rigour, that shall facilitate them to become future leaders. This week shall provide an opportunity to the students to interact and network with mentors from industry and academia of both national and international repute. Annil Suri, Managing Director, Tawi Arc Electrodes Pvt. Ltd., Jammu was the resource person on the occasion. Professor Neetu Andotra, Dean Business Studies, University of Jammu presided over the programme.
Annil Suri, during his interaction, deliberated upon the need for the students to identify their core competencies and skills with the objective of becoming successful managers and entrepreneurs. He urged upon the students to become aware of where they are heading and should take the right road to achieve it. He stressed upon the need for self introspection and monitoring to build upon their strengths while also working on the weaknesses. He further added that future managers should dream big and work with passion and excellence to go beyond their dreams. He discussed the relevance of time management and setting up of clear goals to become successful leaders. Annil Suri also presented a snapshot of the industry scenario in J&K.
Professor Neetu Andotra, during her presidential remarks applauded the efforts made by the team of International Centre in establishing a department with clear goals to create global leaders and enabling the students to move ahead with a vision to excel in life and contribute to the society as well. She highlighted the significance of international business and cross cultural management in today's globalised economy. Citing several examples from across the globe, Professor Neetu Andotra made the students realize the significance of acknowledging diversity. She also encouraged the students to move ahead with a positive attitude, patience and goal clarity.
Earlier during the programme, Professor Deepak Raj Gupta, Director, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu, welcomed the newly inducted batch of MBA (International Business) students. He laid stress upon this new journey that is going to take them way forward in life by learning the nuances and skills of management in the span of two competitive years in this august institute. While addressing the students he said that they have to live up to the institutional ethos. He added that their conduct, work ethics and decisions as responsible leaders will determine their destination. The programme was attended by students, research scholars and faculty members at ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu.
