Ganai asks admin to act tough against encroachers

JAMMU, Aug 7: Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai today asked the enforcement agencies to act tough against encroachers and take effective measures to retrieve state land under illegal occupation.
Responding to pubic complaint during his interaction with the delegations from different areas of Jammu division, the Advisor asked the administration to initiate action under law against the encroachers.
He was responding to the complaint of the members of a deputation from village Jath of Akhnoor who raised the issue of encroachment on the local nallah in their area here during the weekly public redress camp.
Scores of deputations and individuals called on the Advisor and projected the problems of their respective areas.
The deputations from Kathua, Rajouri, Udhampur, Doda and other areas projected developmental demands including road connectivity, augmentation of drinking water facilities, promotion of tourism in potential areas, and completion of ongoing schemes.
Interacting with the deputation of Education employees, the Advisor said that the department is soon going to organize a teachers Conclave to discuss and find solution for filling gaps in the state's education system. He said top educationists and academicians will be invited at the conclave to give suggestions for evolving a holistic and robust education system.
Responding to the issue of water scarcity raised by various deputations including MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta, the Advisor asked the PHE department to explore the possibility of rainwater harvesting to compensate the shortage in water stressed areas.
A deputation of residents of Marble Market, Trikuta Nagar sought development of Children Park on vacant JDA land in their locality.
The Advisor directed VC JDA and Director Floriculture to develop the piece of land into a park with proper fencing.
