Irregularities in recruitment of MOs under NHM
Aspirants allege discrimination in interviews

Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 7: Alleging misappropriation in the interview process, applicants have claimed that some blue eyed candidates with average marks in academics were given maximum marks in interview to select them.
Wishing anonymity, Aspirants for the post of Medical Officers in AYUSH department told Early Times that the National Health Mission (NHM) Jammu and Kashmir vide advertisement no. SHS/NHM/J&K/J/6590-93 Dated 01-08-16 and SHS/NHM/JK/12884-91 dated 09-11-2017 had invited candidates in which hundreds of candidates applied for these posts.
"As per advertisement mentioned above the selection process was based on prorate basis i.e 80 % of the percentage secured in BAMS +20 percent of Interview" sources said, adding that the interview was conducted on November 21-23rd of 2017 here at Directorate National Health Mission Jammu and the result was declared on March 8, 2018.
The Aspirants further said that some candidates in the selection list declared by NHM had average marks in academics, but unfortunately they were selected and the candidates with better marks were neglected.
"As I have secured 70.83%marks in BAMS (80% of 70.83=56.66) and if I would have got only 6.59 marks in interview I would have been selected (cut off for Kathua district is 63.25) and completed internship on 29-04-2016 in due course of time and also undergone interview very well. As such, I was expecting my name in the list of selected candidates for the post of Medical Officers but unfortunately the same was not found in the said list", said an aspirant pleading anonymity and alleging that the candidate who secured 55.56% marks in BAMS (80% of 55.56=44.45) got 18.80(approx 19) marks in interview was selected and same was the case with other candidates. Similarly most of the candidates have graduation percentage less than me who got selected for the post of MO (AYUSH).
The Aspirants further said, "I filed RTI application to know my marks in interview, I was told that I got 6.20 marks in interview".
