Notorious drug peddler detained under PSA

SAMBA, Aug 9: Police today claimed to have detained a notorious criminal and drug peddler under Public Safety Act (PSA)
In order to curtail the activities of hardcore criminal/ drug peddler namely Shiv Raj Singh alias Raju (26) of Gurha Slathia in Samba, who is involved in number of criminal activities and is a great threat to the life and liberty of the people of district Samba particularly Vijaypur town, a special team of police station Vijaypur under the overall supervision of Dr Koshal Kumar Sharma, SSP Samba and under close supervision of Baljeet Singh, SDPO Vijaypur and Inspector Rajinder Sharma-SHO Vijaypur was constituted and the arrest of the said accused person was affected.
"The motive of the subject is not only to create terror among the peaceful and law abiding citizens of the town but also to form biggest criminal gang by encouraging criminal minded person to join with the subject", said police spokesman adding that the criminal activities of the subject are posing great threat to the public peace and tranquility. Besides influential and hardcore criminal, the subject is also a notorious drug peddler and involved in a number of drug smuggling cases. Accordingly, in order to put an end to his prejudicial criminal activities, District Police Samba compiled all the Police record of said Shiv Raj Singh alias, prepared his dossier and got issued his warrant under Public Safety Act issued from Sushma Chauhan, IAS Deputy Commissioner, Samba vide office order No. 03/PSA of 2018 dated 06.08.2018 to prevent him from indulging in prejudicial criminal activities and lodged the said detune in Sub-Jail Hiranagar today after execution of warrant under PSA issued against him.
