| Sat tours Ward 35; listens, solves public grievances | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 26: A deputation consisting of a large number of people hailing from Shant Nagar, Ram Vihar and other adjoining areas of Ward 35, Janipur met Former Minister and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma who apprised him of the problems being faced by the locals from sometime concerning damage of deep drains and other basic problems related to sanitation system and construction works of lanes and drains. Taking a serious note on that, Sharma called upon the officials of JMC, UEED, ERA(Sewerage) and toured the areas along with locals and officials of department. He was also accompanied by political activists of the area as well.
Sharma also visited adjoining areas of Ward 35 as well along with the officials of concerned departments and extensively toured almost each and every lane and it was brought to his notice by the locals that there are certain areas which still have leakages of water pipes and after works were done by ERA of laying new sewerage system and water pipes, the holes were not filled properly, following to which accidents could also happen if anyone was travelling on two wheelers.
Sharma directed the officials of UEED to cover the holes of deep drains with gratings and wherever required the works for construction of deep drains to be also taken up soon in order to avoid public distress. He also directed the officials of JMC to prepare estimates as soon as possible for construction works to be taken up in the area so that people could be provided with best infra at their door steps. |
