Favouritism mars transfer policy in JU
Powerful officials manage choicest postings in campus
8/30/2018 11:43:04 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 30: Nepotism and favouritism still prevail in Jammu University, with influential officials getting themselves transferred or retained at places of their choice in the campus.
As per the documents pertaining to the university, it is revealed that various transfer orders issued by the administration earlier this year (dated 2.4.2018, 27.4.18, 1.6.18 and 25.6.18) were modified with one stroke of pen vide order dated 20-8-18. The favourite officials were retained on their original place of postings as per their choice for unknown reasons.
Those who were retained on their original posts after a period of four to five months are Omesh Sharma, Head Assistant, Raj Kumar Pandith P. A, Amit Raina Senior Assistant, Sehnaz Akhtar, Senior Assistant, Khema Kumari, Senior Assistant, Sumeet Arora, Senior Assistant, Rema Raina, Senior Assistant. Also, Junior Assistants have been transferred on the posts of Junior Assistants, the document divulged.
Not only this, even some of the officials who were under transfer and could not comply with earlier transfer order were ostensibly readjusted as per their choice.
Sources revealed that there are few officials who have been made to shuttle from one place to another once or twice within four to five months just to accommodate blue eyed officials who did not reportedly bother to comply with transfer orders for joining new place of posting nor any action was taken against such erring officials by university administration.
Sources urged the Governor administration to take cognizance of dictatorial style of effecting transfer orders by university administration that is harassing dedicated but non-influential officials and suitably accommodating blue eyed officials who are well connected with the corridors of power in varsity.
They demanded that a thorough probe be conducted into irregularities being committed in effecting transfer of officials in the university to avoid resentment amongst the staff.
