Seventeen pilgrims injured in accident

Rajouri, Sept 2: Car driver was among seventeen persons injured in head on collision between a car and Matador i on Jammu-Poonch highway in the afternoon today.
All the injured were shifted to sub district hospital at Sunderbani by the police with the help of locals.
Police said the incident took place near Rah Salyote village on Jammu-Poonch highway when the car bearing registration No.PB11-8595 was on way to Jammu collided head on with Matador bearing registration No. JK02-8979 which was carrying pilgrims to Rajouri district from Reasi district.
On getting information of the accident people rushed to the spot , informed the police and started rescuing operation. Later all the injured were shifted to nearby sub district hospital at Sunderbani.
The injured have been identified as Mohd Latief and his 4 children namely 15 years Zeenat Naz, 12 years Karamt, Abdul Qayoom , Zamina Akhter, 65 years Mohd Rasool, Mohd Rashid and his two children namely 20 years Malaya, 23 years old Arshad Ahmed, Mohd Nazir his wife Mir Bibi and two children 19 years Rukhsana Bibi, 22 years old Khadam Hussain, 40 years old Mir Bibi and her two children 3 years old Shaba Noor, 18 years old Mushtaq all resident of Zeari village in Reasi district.
All the pilgrims were on way to Shahadra village in Rajouri district to pay their obeisance at the world famous Shrine of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah.
The driver of the car was identified as Mohd Bashir s/oi Mohd Din r/o Thanamandi in Rajouri district. Police has taken cognizance of the accident and started investigation.
