Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 2: It seems the some of the doctors of the Government Medical College and Hospital and its associated Hospitals are leaving no stone unturned to secure their personal interests. It can be gauged that non-clinical departments of the aforesaid hospitals are indulged in private practices but the concerned authority has turned deaf and dumb. Credible sources disclosed Early Times that the concerned administration and higher-ups have become lieutenant of some doctors, who are close to power corridors and stronghold on the administration and political leaders, that why no rules and regulations are being followed by the concerned officials.
"For a glaring example of a doctor, who always remained in power corridors, covers 40 kilometers distance to go to a clinic for private practice. Surprisingly, he belongs to the non-clinical department, which supposes to be non-practicing despite that he is completely indulged in this practice. It seems that doctor has forgotten rules that he doesn't having specialization in any branch, which causes great confusion among patients, as he cannot treat patients like the specialized doctor of the concerned branch and used to refer them to require departments for proper treatment, "he divulged.
Sources stated that there are a number of doctors, who belong to non- clinical as well as clinical, indulged in the practice. They have succeeded to secure their interest because of weak higher-ups, even higher-ups also do help them in such types of activates. Causing great set back to the academics as well as teaching of the GMC Jammu but no one is there to save this institute from such elements.
Sources said the matter has been brought to the notice of Governor SP Malik who may call an inquiry into the matter through one of his Advisors.
When contacted a senior official in the CUS tried to downplay the matter. "We have not made any formal appointment but an incharge has been appointed," the official said on the condition of anonymity.
Despite repeated attempts the CUS VC couldn't be contacted for comments.
