3 drug peddlers held with 85 grams heroin, 260 grams Charas; Rs 52,000 cash

Jammu, Sept 2: Gandhi Nagar police today claimed to have arrested three valley based drug peddlers and recovered 85 grams of Heroin, 260 grams of Charas and Rs 52,000 in cash from their possession when they were intercepted while travelling in a car at Green Belt Gandhi Nagar.
Police spokesman said that today police party from Gandhi Nagar police station established a naka near Green Belt Gandhi Nagar for checking/frisking of vehicles.
"When the police party was checking/ frisking the vehicles one i-10 car bearing Registration number PBO2AZ-7770 coming from Bahu Plaza towards naka was also stopped for checking, on questioning the driver of the car disclosed his name as Abdul Latief of Mughalpora Kupwara and during checking/ frisking 85 Grams of Heroin, 260 Grams of Charas and Rs 52,000 in cash were recovered from the possession of the driver of the car as well as his other two associates namely Manzoor Ahmed of Hampora Dangerpora Baramulla and Abdul Majeed Hampura Kupwara", said spokesman adding that during questioning the drug peddler deposed that they use to bring narcotics from Kashmir valley to sell it among the youth of Jammu area.
Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 200/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started. All the three accused persons were formally arrested and car used in the commission of crime as well as consignment of Heroin and cash have been seized accordingly, said police spokesman.
