JAMMU, Sept 2: The All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIIOLSG), Jammu celebrated Local Self Government day on the eve of birthday of C D Barfiwala, the First Director General of the Institute. The students of the ongoing batches of the Regional Center Jammu participated in the programme by taking the active part in different programmes disseminating the activities of the Institute in broader spectrum, conveying the messages of Swachh Bharat Mission, drive against the open defecation followed by cultural programme comprising of songs, dances, skits with different themes. The staff members and faculty members also participated in the programme. Thereafter, the cake cutting ceremony was also performed.
During the programme, the passed out students of Sanitary Inspector Course were also awarded Diplomas issued by the competent authority. The Regional Director, of the Institute K B Magotra, while speaking on the occasion laid stress to adopt the features of the Local Self Government as it unites the masses with democracy and encourages them to participate in its activities without any bias or prejudice in the country. |
