Congress takes out protest rally
9/14/2018 9:58:15 PM
Early Times Report
Reasi, Sept 14: A protest rally was organized in District Reasi at DCC Reasi led by MLA Ijaz Ahmed Khan , MLA Mumtaz Ahmed Khan and Senior Congress Leader Jugal Kishore Sharma over Rafale issue . The rally started from newly opened Congress Office in Nai Basti via Main Bazar to Bus Stand Reasi where Road was blocked for almost one and a half hour and protest raised slogans against Center Govt. for Anti People Policies and Rafael Deal .
Jugal Kishore Sharma accused Modi Govt. of keeping the country in dark over the cost of Rafale deal and questioned BJP-led government for procuring each Rafale fighter at a cost of over Rs 1,670 crore against Rs 526 crore finalized by the previous UPA government. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi have lied to the country by keeping it in the dark over the Rafale deal. The agreement has no clause requiring the government to keep the price of the deal hidden, but only the technicalities of the fighter jets. The government is trying to hide a scam worth ?41,000 crore," he said the agreement signed during the United Progressive Alliance regime in December 2012 stated that the cost of one Rafale jet is ?526 crore and the total cost of 36 jets works out to? 18,940 crore. The cost of one jet under the Modi government, though, is ?1670.70 crore, which is almost 300% higher than the earlier deal. Jugal Kishore Sharma also criticize MLA Reasi for not favouring Mother Child Hospital in Reasi town and misleading People of Reasi. Ex Minister also raised many local issues of Reasi Constituency which MLA Reasi failed to solve during BJP Govt in State.
