Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 14: Following the complaint, filed by one RTI activist, sleuths of Vigilance Organization Jammu (VOJ) today conducted site inspection of Cattle shed at Mawa Karora in Gurha Brahmana Panchayat in Akhnoor Tehsil.
Sleuths of (VOJ) today visited Mawa Karora area of Akhnoor and held a spot inspection of the cattle shed after a compliant in this regard was filed by an RTI activist Sunil Kumar of village Gandharwan in Akhnoor with the Vigilance Organization Jammu and later he also approached the court seeking directions for inquiry into the matter.
As per reply of the RTI filed by Sunil Kumar in BDO Block Akhnoor Rs 1462771 payment has been given to the contractor for the work of cattle shed at Mawa Karora Akhnoor, The activist alleged that the condition of cattle shed which earlier was branded by MLA Akhnoor as cow shed is worst and it is hard to digest that such huge amount is used on this whole work.
The JE and other officials were called on the spot to make actual estimate of this work whose payment approx 15 Lac has been released.
Earlier also, the RTI activist Sunil Kumar has alleged that the pipes used in this construction were illegally used by the contractor which belongs to PHE department and were 'used and old' forcing him to file an RTI with the PHE department.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Sunil Kumar alleged that PHE officials bribed me for withdrawing the RTI and Police failed to take any action despite repeated complaints.
"Two officials of PHE visited my house and offered me some money for withdrawing RTI filed by me in the PHE department," said Sunil adding that when I denied accepting money they forcefully leave money on my bed and left the place. "The two officials who bribed me are Rajesh Sethi AEE PHE (Civil), Javed Junior Engineer (JE).
Sunil alleged that he immediately informed the SHO Akhnoor but he failed to take any action which forced him to lodge the complaint with SDM Akhnoor who issued direction to SDPO Akhnoor to look into the matter. He further said that the matter was not taken seriously which forced him to knock the door of VOJ.
"No one dares to speak against all the wrong doings committed in the Constituency," said Sunil adding that if any one muster courage to raise voice against the wrong doings then administration hush up the matter either one way or other.
