Bovine smuggling bids foiled in Thanamandi

Rajouri, Sept 22: Police today claimed to have foiled multiple bovine smuggling bids in Thanamandi Sub-Division in last 36 hours rescuing a number of bovines from the clutches of smugglers.
Police spokesman said that during naka checking at TCP Thanamandi by a police team headed by SHO Thanamandi Nazir A Dar, two Tatamobiles bearing registration numbers JK11B-3316 and JK11B-9450 were seen on way from Rajouri towards Mughal road but when the drivers of both the vehicles saw the police naka, they left the vehicle on road and fled away from the spot.
"During the search of the vehicles, 10 bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicles who were rescued while both the vehicles along have been seized and a case under FIR no. 170, 171/2018 under sections 279, 336 and 188 of RPC has been registered.
Similarly, while checking at another naka, one Tata mobile vehicle was intercepted near Thanamandi and 10 bovine animals were rescued from the vehicle bearing registration number JK22A-4716 driven by Mohd Altaf son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Behrote Thanamandi who was arrested and booked in a case under FIR no 166/18 under section 188 of RPC, 3 PCA Act.
Another police team headed by SHO Darhal-Habib Pathan during night hour patrol last night intercepted a Tata mobile bearing registration number JK11B-4668 at Kassian village and two bovines were rescued from the vehicle.
A case under FIR no 68/2018 under section 188, 279, 336 of RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Darhal Police Station.
All the bovine smuggling bids were foiled under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Iftikar Ahmad Chowdhary.
