Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 22: BJP's claims to develop rural India stand exposed when it comes home constituency of BJP State Chief, Ravinder Raina where posts of Block Development Officers are vacant since long.
Two blocks Kiladral and Lamberi in district Rajouri are headless since long, however, earlier these were filled on basis of additional charge system. "They have no vision to develop the rural, even urban India, though they can claim, but claims are not sufficient for development you need to do works", said a local leader and expected Sarpanch from Nowshera.
"We waited a lot as we hoped that MLA who is leading state unit of BJP, and has good connections in Union government including Prime Minister Narindera Modi, will make his constituency as a role model for other areas", he said and added that but he wasted the opportunity given to him by masses of the area. "You will find nothing new in this constituency, as already proposed developmental activities are taking place in the area", they added.
Earlier, charge of both blocks given as additional charge to other BDOs, and it is not possible for a person to head three blocks at a time. "After rotation of KAS officers, in July this year both these blocks in said constituency are headless", they said and added however, other block in district Rajouri are headless in even this state atleast one third of total posts of BDOs are lying vacant.
"It shows how committed BJP is to develop the rural India, a Block Development Officer, a necessary toll for the development of any block, many works are being executed under MGNREGA, to serve the purpose you need a permanent officer", he added. MLA Ravinder Rain could not be contacted for his comment, as his cell phone was switch off.
