Agencies

New delhi, Oct 11: Following the successful joint operation of the CRPF, Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police, in which two terrorists (one of them was AMU scholar-turned-Hizbul commander Manan Wani) have been killed in Handwara area of North Kashmir on Thursday, in the very first reaction from the CRPF, Director-General Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar has expressed his contentment in the matter. DG RR Bhatnagar said, 'it is a great achievement for the Indian Armed forces'. "He was one our major target in the operation. He has been instrumental in a lot of recruitments in the group and also has been very active on the media. It is a great achievement of all the security forces", said DG Bhatnagar.
On being asked about the procedure of the operation that successfully gunned down two terrorists, he said, "It was a very well-managed operation with proper coordination between Jammu and Kashmir police, CRPF and the Indian army. It is a notable success of the armed forces". Later, Brigadier and defence expert, V Mahalingam spoke to national chaneel as he shared his opinion in the victorious shoot out of the terrorists including Manan Wani in Kashmir.
"Absolutely, justice has been served. Problem with these people are, they are being funded and motivated by Pakistan. This very fact, previously Burhan Wani has gunned down and now Manan Wani has been killed. As these people see no end to themselves and they continue to go to the path of terrorism. This will send a very clear message to every single youth who are choosing to join this path. They will be gunned down, this is the message from Indian Army for them and for Pakistan," said V Mahalingam.
He further warned Pakistan in his statement suggesting that they should give up the agenda to battle with India or the Indian Armed Forces will take them down just like the terrorists.
"Pakistan needs to understand that it cannot succeed in what it has been doing in the Kashmir Valley. They have to give up the agenda to take us down. Today it is such a terrible state that is cannot even look up. They cannot continue to keep a terrorism fight against India", he added.
While speaking to national channel a top Police senior officer, while wishing anonymity, said that Wani was enrolled as a PhD scholar with the AMU before joining the ranks in January this year. However, sources said Wani along with two of his accomplice had come to the area to receive a group of recently infiltrated terrorists. "There is a possibility that the infiltrated group is hiding in the nearby forest area and the operation may take longer than usual," he revealed.
