Khelo India handball championship concludes

Jammu, Oct 17: The Jammu District Khelo India Handball Championship in under17 boys category concluded today at M.A Stadium.
The championship is being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Handball Association, in collaboration with J &K State Sports Council.
Arun Bangotra Principal Govt Polytechnic College Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion while Narinder Mahajan Vice President Handball Federation of India was the Guest of honour on the concluding ceremony of the District championship.
Calling upon youngsters to take active part in sports and games, Arun Bangotra said that besides nurturing body and mind of the players, sports is a good career option.
"Our youth have immense talent and all out efforts are being made by various government and sports associations to provide best possible sports facilities for the players in the state," Arun said, while speaking at the valedictory function of District Jammu Khelo India Handball championship
Nariender Mahajan Vice President HFI, Ashwani Kumar Raina General Secretary also spoke on the occasion. The final match was played between STC and Stadium Eleven in which STC defeated Stadium Eleven by 28-16. The 2nd place was bagged by Stadium Eleven and 3rd Place by St. Francies School Akhnoor.
Meanwhile, Khelo India organized by J&K Weight Lifting Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council was concluded at Weight Lifting Hall, MA Stadium.
The event was held under the presence of Chief Guest. S.P, J&K Police, Dushyant Sharma, President, Olympic Association and Ashutosh Sharma, General Secretary, Olympic Association, Ravi Singh, Divisional State Sports Officer Jammu, Harbajan Singh, President, Jammu and Kashmir Weight Lifting Association, Satish Gupta, Manager, Indoor Sports Complex and Coach Inderpal Singh.
The list of winners was in 50 Kg category Snatan Choudhary -1st Arun Kumar - Rudar Partap.
