Bail denied to fake Vigilance Commissioner

JAMMU, Oct 19: CJM Jammu rejected the bail application of one Javid Akhter, S/o Ab. Kalam Azad who claimed to be Vigilance Commissioner and cheated people.
The facts of case are that the complainants met with the accused in the month of Sept. 2017 through Shah Ali who is running petrol pump at Nagrota Jammu and the accused developed good relation with the complainants as said accused introduced himself as Vigilance Commissioner Delhi and told that he visits in the state for his official works. It is alleged that the accused with this way of talking and presentation simple behavior impressed the complainants and become friendly as the accused whenever came Jammu met with the complainants. In the meantime the accused told the complainants that he is having many links in Central Govt. and Politicians of ruling party as well and that also some property dealers in and around NCR and told that he will helps the complainants in purchasing some immovable property out of State in the shape flats in and around NCR on a very cheap rate and also told that after one year of purchase he will also help in resale of said flats on higher rates and the complainants will earn in lakhs within a span of one year. He fleeced over 40 lacs from the complainants by cheating them.
CJM Jammu Ashwani Sharma after hearing Senior PO Rohit Gupta for the state observed that Since many FIR's have been lodged against the accused who has posed himself as a Sr. IRS Officer of 1989 batch and had impersonated himself as a Central Vigilance Commissioner and in the said capacity had duped huge amount from the complainant as well as other persons regarding which different FIR's have been lodged against him. The recovery has not been effected so far from the accused. The investigation is at the threshold and if the accused will be enlarged on bail, at this stage, the larger interest of the state shall be prejudice and the investigation will be hampered. The accused is not entitled to bail at this stage.
